Spot Training, Iceberg Lettuce and Everything Else That Doesn't Work

First of all, I go through these Facebook Groups on a daily looking for clients and connections and it's just amazing that I was almost this way...

How people think they can only spot train their stomachs, bellys, guts, fupas and whatever else you want to call them without doing any real exercise is beyond me.

Did you know that the lettuce diet (eating salad every fucking day) is still a form of spot training? Yea, it is because if you think that if you only eat a lettuce leaf with basalmic vinegrette sprinkled with grilled chicken without doing any kind of real exercise that you're going to lose your stomach and get a six-pack then you're out of your fucking mind! If anything, all you're going to end up doing is torturing your tastebuds after a while and you're going to go right back to eating Wendy's, McDonald's and Popeye's because you got so damn tired of filling your body up with something that's tasting horrible after a while and still not curbing your hunger.

A lot of people often come to me and ask "How can I do something with my stomach, I want to work abs." and they aren't even eating for their goal or maybe they are eating for their goal but they lack the actual drive to build up the work ethic. I find that to be extremely annoying. First off... there's no amount of crunches or sit-ups that you can do that will help you burn belly fat if you aren't training your ENTIRE BODY to support your core! If you want to lose belly fat, you will have to work on losing all of the fat in your body with fullbody exercises and training. You will have to invest your time into to doing LOTS OF CARDIO. And don't come to me telling me what someone else told you. There are many ways to train but since you don't know what the hell you're talking about and came to me... listen to me and don't tell me what someone else said unless you ask it in the form of a question and even then... don't ask me any questions about what someone else said. If you want to compare what I'm saying to what someone else is saying... go to the other person instead... I'm not really trying to hear the garbage. Yes, garbage. To me its garbage coming from someone who doesn't even know what the hell they are talking about and trying to make comparisons on something they don't even know about themselves. When it comes to fitness, you should be open to all advice and take from it what you want and leave what you don't but it is rude to tell any trainer what someone else said and you don't even know how to balance your own weight standing on 1 foot.

Now, for those of you who lack knowledge on how to get started in your fitness journey, there really and truly is no right or wrong way just as long as you start. Like myself, I didn't know what I didn't know until I just took it upon myself and got started and when I started... I started with Iceberg lettuce and crunches and I was very disappointed so I decided to get creative. I remember one time... It was the middle of June and I decided to drink vodka (because I knew that alcohol makes you sweat), put on a sauna suit, ankle weights and sit in the sun hoping that I would pop like fucking Jiffy Pop and all I ended up doing was getting drunk and into a fight. And I looked fucking RIDICULOUS!!! But... that's just one aspect of the beginning of my fitness journey... And look at me now... I will tell you NOT TO DO THAT SHIT! LOL!!! I only like to tell people what to do based off of what I have done still hoping you will still find your own way and what works best for you... That's all you can really do.

Now... when I train you, I will train you exactly the way I trained myself (minus the vodka and sauna suit in the middle of June) and I know for a fact that you will get those results. But as someone who knows what it's like to torture your tastebuds with lettuce and bullshit and half-assed workouts along with thinking spot training is the way to go... I've been there... it's wack af! You don't get anywhere like that. With all of these diet methods trending now, I know it's hard to pick which one you want to do. But for me, I just simply cut out all grains and sugar and left it at that. Counting calories was annoying, logging my diet into MyFitnessPal got really tedious because now once I upgraded to just cutting grain and sugar and just getting to work with running ,I was too damn amped up to even touch my phone and figure out what the hell I was supposed to type in, I lost the energy for that and STILL lost 60lbs in 4 months. Counting calories also slowed me down. Constantly checking the scale when I wasn't even going hard frustrated me and only doing crunches and tried to do planks with a gut and not knowing how to balance my body, breathe and hold my own weight only made me cry and want to give up... Dont be that person too!!! Spot training is never the way to go, 1 lettuce leaf won't help you with portion control (unless you are training to become some kind of assassin/ burgular that needs to fit through a damn fence or do some kind of special breakdance method like dude from Ocean's 69 or whatever, Crunches without training your entire body isn't going to help.

I mean, this post was supposed to be "informational" but yea... it's also a rant... so what! But the moral of the story is... NOTHING WORKS UNLESS YOU DO!!!
