Sometimes talking it out is the best way to help someone train. This morning, I woke up and I had a client join me for our session today and instead of training, we talked.
I love it because expressing the mind outloud is what I love to do and being able to do that with others is what I love to do especially if it's something they love to do too.
Sometimes, you can't just be a robot. You are human and there are times when "being professional" doesn't hold a place in what you're doing. Sometimes, that person just really needs to talk to you about their day(s), their plan(s) and any and everything around them. I love those kinds of bonds with people and I listen to them. It also gives me a chance to let them know about me as well. I get to let them hear my story and they know it's
real by what I'm saying to them and how I'm expressing it.
In the past, I've ran into people who pretend to relate to what I'm going through, and they probably very well can, we are all human, but the truth is... they really can't. They are just using the skill of relating to win me over, lower my guard or seal the deal for their own benefit. I am happy to say, that I am not one of those people. I'm real and I'm genuine and I love connecting with my clients and anyone in that way. I gain no pleasure in training with someone that I cannot connect with on any level but my client this morning, I would do it for her all day no matter what b
ecause the bond is real. She believes in not only what she's doing but she belie
ves in what I am doing and that is a client/trainer relationship that will go very far because it's real.
So again, sometimes training and "getting healthy" isn't even just about physical fitness... it's about mental fitness, verbal fitness and how you interact with others. How you're able to lift the weight off of your mind. Don't be afraid to talk it out with whoever you feel comfortable with whether it's your trainer, your lover, your friends... whoever.
